San Francisco Giants 3 Up, 3 Down: Beating the Brew Crew
3 DOWN
1 – Middle Relief
The late innings are starting to get figured out, but the bridge to that is still something of a question mark. On Tuesday, Albert Suarez was given his chance to work a seventh inning with a one-run lead, and it did not go well. He coughed up the lead, giving up a walk and two doubles to score a pair of runs, and the Giants couldn’t recover after.
Suarez’s audition has not gone well this season. Since returning from injury with four scoreless inning over two outings, Suarez has allowed 14 runs in 13.1 innings and taken the loss in three of his seven appearances.
2 – Rookie Woes
Ryder Jones was starting to get his feet under him as a big leaguer, but he didn’t have a great series against Milwaukee. He had two hits in eight at-bats, but couldn’t come up with an RBI despite plenty of chances to do so.
His defense at first base has been more than passable, and his fellow infielders have given him plenty of tests with throws in the dirt. However, he did commit an awful error on Wednesday when he failed to catch a pickoff throw from Strickland, allowing a runner to move over to second. Luckily, Strickland worked through it and kept the game tied.

3 – Can’t Complete the Sweep
The Giants had a chance on Tuesday, but let the lead slip away. Had they won that game and then gone on to win on Wednesday, they’d be a little closer to a .500 record at AT&T Park. Instead, they sit at 31-35, which is still a huge improvement over their 21-42 record away from home.
