Oakland Raiders: It’s Only April, But Denver Fans Already Clutching Their Pearls

Reason #2 – Carr Got Hurt
"“David will be returning after breaking his fibula. All reports are that he’s doing fantastic in his recovery, but there will be a period of adjustment when he returns. Who knows if he doesn’t ‘see ghosts’ out there when he’s scrambling about?”"
The antagonist seems to delight in purposely calling Raiders QB Derek Carr by his brother’s name because – it’s funny? Or at least, whatever passes for funny out there, apparently.
By all accounts, Carr’s recovery is going well. Very well. Following the first day of the Raiders’ offseason program on Monday, Carr was excited as he spoke to reporters.
"“I feel great. I’ve been running, jumping, throwing, cutting, everything, so I’m ready to rock. I’m ready to do absolutely everything.”"
Which doesn’t sound much like a guy who’s going to be “seeing ghosts” out there.

As for the “period of adjustment,” – isn’t that what training camp is for? A training camp Carr is going to be up and ready for, by the way. He’ll be in prime football shape by the time the season rolls around. The “period of adjustment” argument also simply does not fly because Carr is going to be playing with basically the same guys, in a system that may have a few new wrinkles but isn’t going to be changed all that much – so what exactly is he going to need to “adjust” to?
No telling. But this from a guy who thinks it’s the height of comedy to call him by his brother’s name, so make of it what you will.
