With the Oakland Raiders reportedly close to a deal for Marshawn Lynch, let’s look at a few of the pros and cons of having him in Silver and Black.

The Oakland Raiders are reported to have agreed to terms (maybe) with soon-to-be un-retired and soon-to-be former Seahawk Marshawn Lynch. according to who you listen to and who you believe, the biggest hurdle – the contractual details – are apparently done, or getting close to it. So, now it’s up to Seattle to clear the path for Lynch to make his way home.

About a deal for Lynch, Seattle’s GM John Schneider has already said, “It’s one that will go in a smooth manner because of our relationship.” He was of course, referring to his relationship with Raiders GM Reggie McKenzie, established when both men were members of the Packers’ front office.

Of course, the ability to get out from under Lynch’s $9 million dollar deal with his decision to come back probably plays a bit of a role in that “smooth manner” as well. Being able to avoid that sort of a cap hit more than likely helped grease the wheels – just a touch.

Regardless of how or why it happened, it looks like it’s going to happen and we’ll be seeing Beast Mode in Silver and Black this Fall. It’s a fee-good signing for some of the hometown fans and has the fanbase everywhere buzzing with excitement.

But there are some serious questions that still remain. Questions that won’t have answers until we see Lynch in a Raiders uniform and carrying that ball out of the backfield on Sundays.

The hope, of course, is that he returns to his prior Beast Mode form and helps elevate what was a potent ground game last season even further. The reality though – is undetermined just yet.
No matter what, it would be an intriguing signing that could be a tremendous boon for the team on the field. So, let’s take a look at some of the pros and cons of the Raiders adding Lynch to the roster.
