1998, 1999 and 2000: New York Yankees

In one of Beane’s early moves at the helm of the A’s franchise, he traded third baseman Scott Brosius to the Yankees for pitcher Kenny Rogers. Brosius’ stellar defense and clutch hitting in the World Series lent a big hand to the Yankees’ amazing 3-year championship run. Eventually, Beane acquired one member of these Yankees title teams: David Justice, who ended his career in green and gold with the 2002 AL West champion A’s.
