Casilla’s name pops up again but former A’s Barry Zito and Marco Scutaro also make appearances on this list. Beane held on to Zito until he hit free agency following Oakland’s run to the 2006 ALCS. Fan favorite and clutch hitter Scutaro was traded from Oakland to the Toronto Blue Jays for the unspectacular return of Kristian Bell and Graham Godfrey in 2007. As always, I’m happy to see former A’s earn World Series rings but it always hurts a little to watch them do it with the cross-Bay rival.
