Oakland Raiders: A Few Keys To Victory Over Tampa Bay Buccaneers
By Kevin Saito
The Oakland Raiders are in Tampa Bay this week, looking on to the momentum they re-established in last week’s win over Jacksonville – here are a few keys to victory over the Buccaneers.
After being dominated by Kansas City, the Oakland Raiders looked like a team searching for answers to some pertinent questions. In that game, the offense didn’t perform well, the defense didn’t perform well, and they were completely outcoached by Andy Reid. Though the final score was 26-10, it didn’t feel that close.
Coming into last week’s game with the Jacksonville Jaguars, many pundits questioned whether or not Oakland’s fatal flaws had been exposed and whether they would be able to overcome a Jaguars team many thought better than their record indicated.
The Raiders answered that question pretty well in beating Jacksonville 33-16.
But now they will square off with a Tampa Bay team that’s had a pretty Jekyll and Hyde performance so far this season. After beating what looks like a pretty good Falcons team, the Bucs went on to lose three straight to Arizona, Los Angeles, and Denver.
They’ve rebounded since with wins over Carolina and San Francisco – though given the combined record of those two teams, that might not necessarily indicate a lot of progress.
However, there are some things Tampa Bay does extremely well. And they have the ability to exploit some weaknesses in Oakland’s game. And if they want to a chance to move to 6-2 and have their best start since the 2001 season, they’re going to have to put forth an even stronger effort than they did against Jacksonville.
Let’s then, look at a few keys to victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
