0 and 1

In brighter news for the Raiders, not all is gloom and doom. These two numbers, zero and one, are big, bright, positive numbers for this squad. And both are trends we want to see continue.

The zero is the number of turnovers the Raiders have on the season. Carr hasn’t thrown one pick and the team hasn’t lost a fumble. It’s a good start for this offensive unit and shows that taking care of the ball is a big priority for this team. They need to continue that trend moving forward.

After all, teams that win the turnover battle usually have a good shot at winning the game as well.

The one is the number of sacks Carr has taken. He ran out of bounds at the line of scrimmage rather than getting dropped, but by the rule book, it still counts as a sack.

It’s good news in that it means the offensive line, though shuffled and re-shuffled, and then shuffled again because of injuries, has worked like a charm.

Mike Tice has done an unbelievable job of coaching all of his linemen up and having them all ready to play. Despite all of the injuries and chaos, there hasn’t been a significant drop off in play regardless of who is manning the positions. The run game hasn’t missed a beat and Carr hasn’t had to pick himself up after getting flattened play after play.

The offense has been strong so far this season. They’ve taken care of the ball and that line has taken care of Carr. Both are incredibly good news for this Raiders team and signs that bode well for the squad moving forward.
