The Oakland Raiders seem pretty set at most of their positions already, but that doesn’t mean everything is set in stone – here are a few upcoming camp battles worth keeping an eye on.

More from Las Vegas Raiders News

Though nothing is set in stone, of course, the Oakland Raiders‘ starting roster for the upcoming season seems pretty set for the most part. If anybody really thinks Kelechi Osemele and Sean Smith are actually battling for playing time, I have a lovely timeshare on Mars, I’d like to sell you. However, that doesn’t mean everything is settled and that there isn’t still some mystery and intrigue left to play out before the season starts.

Most of the battles that will be waged once camp starts will be for backup duties, roster spots, and playing time – with a few exceptions, of course. But that isn’t going to make them any less compelling to watch. In fact, with so much on the line for some of the younger guys, the battles will surely be fierce, competitive, and fun to see play out.

Oakland has talent at virtually every position – something they have not had in ages. So, when the team begins making their cuts, they’ll be losing solid talent. Of course, they’ll also be keeping talent judged to be better, leaving a roster stuffed with playmakers.

It all seems to bode well for a team that has an upward trajectory and a team many believe will reverse a thirteen season history of misery and postseason drought. But to do that they’re going to have to field a team that gets solid contributions from every single man on the roster.

And that is what will make the camp battles – particularly the following five – especially worth keeping an eye on.
