The Golden State Warriors are going for their second NBA title in as many years. And yet, after a historic regular season, they still have their doubters as they look to make history.

The Golden State Warriors have gone an astounding 140-22 over the last two NBA regular seasons, and possibly could be crowned NBA Champions, for the second consecutive year. But to many that’s still not enough.

There have been doubts about the legitimacy of last year’s title run from many corners — doubts stemming from the amount of injuries each of their opponents incurred along their path to the championship. There have been shots taken at the Warriors because of the era they play in — an era they are currently dominating. And there have also been plenty of shots taken at Stephen Curry‘s status as the “Two-Time MVP.”

With all the shade that has been thrown in their direction, you would have to give them a pass if once in a while, they threw some darts back.

On occasion there may be a subtle shot back but, but that’s not how these Warriors are built. Golden State usually follows the company line, which is — ignore the noise and concentrate on the task at hand.

And that task is to repeat as NBA Champions.

During their two year rampage through the league, no other player has been faced with the barrage of criticism that Stephen Curry has endured. Whether it’s his current peers or NBA legends of yesteryear, the stream of barbs aimed in his direction has been constant and relentless.

There really has been no rhyme or reason to the doubters, but Draymond Green pretty much summed up how many in “DubNation” feel about those who continue to question the legitimacy of Curry’s greatness. In an interview with Bay Area News Group sports columnist, Marcus Spears, Draymond explains his take on the Curry doubters.

"“He’s taken any doubt away from anybody,” Green said. “At this point, if you still doubt, you’re just going to doubt. That’s just what you want to do and you’re searching or reaching.”"

Draymond tends to be very blunt at times but can also be very accurate in his summations. Those who still have doubts about the legitimacy of the Warriors, or Curry for that matter, are never going to admit to themselves or to the public, that we are witnessing greatness. That’s just the honest truth.

The Warriors have already shown the will and tenacity of a champion. In these 2016 NBA playoffs alone, they’ve shown more heart and determination than many past champs. Whether it’s playing three weeks without their superstar and still advancing, or crawling out of a 3-1 hole against a talented and hungry OKC Thunder team led by two future Hall of Famers, Golden State has overcome every obstacle thrown their way.

Over these last two years, the Warriors have never concerned themselves with criticism. Their sole agenda has been getting the most out of every element and piece that exist in this great organization. It has always been about that Larry O’Brien Trophy and not about quieting skeptics.

So with the chance to repeat as NBA Champions in their sights, its history that’s on their minds, not proving the doubters wrong.
