Giant Killer of the Week: You Already Know Who It Is

Another series with the Rockies, another series where Nolan Arenado takes care of business against the Giants. In four games, Arenado collected six hits, including another home run against the Giants, and drove in four runs while scoring three times.

On Thursday, Arenado had just one hit in four at-bats, but it was a two-run home run. He also picked up another RBI when he was plunked with the bases loaded. On Friday, he added another two hits to his ledger, including a double. On Saturday, he went hitless in three official at-bats, but was still on base three times via walks. On Sunday, he came a home run shy of the cycle, picking up a double, triple, and an RBI in four at-bats.

In 26 games against the Giants since the start of last season, Arenado is batting .355 and slugging .865 against pitchers in the orange and black. He has 10 doubles, four triples, 13 home runs, and 38 RBI in that span. Yikes.

Former Giant Adam Duvall also had a nice series in his first taste against his former team. In seven at-bats over three games, Duvall collected three hits, including two home runs to double his season total before the series. Duvall finds himself in a good situation in Cincinnati, as he can get a lot of at-bats for the rebuilding club, something the Giants probably would never have been able to give him.
