Round 1: Houston Rockets

This is the only post season opponent that the Warriors are guaranteed to face. The Rockets were able to sneak into the playoffs as an eight-seed after finishing the season with a win over the Sacramento Kings, pushing their record to an even 41-41.

The Warriors have had the Rockets’ number for all of about two years now. In the 12 match-ups these two teams have had in the last two seasons, the Warriors are an impressive 11-1 against the Rockets, with the one loss coming in game four of last year’s Western Conference Finals. The Warriors won the season series 3-0 this year.

This season alone, the Warriors are averaging 116.3 points per game against Houston, along with 29.6 assists, and only 12.6 turnovers, all while shooting a shade under 48 percent from the field. The Rockets, on the other hand, are scoring only 104 points per game against the Warriors this season, dishing out 21.4 assists and turning the ball over 14.3 times per game, while shooting 41.7 percent.

Prediction: Golden State win series over Houston 4-0
