Who would’ve thought? Despite Spring struggles, baseball seasons are long and have a lot of factors come into play. As they old cliche goes, it is a marathon and not a sprint. With the additions of Cueto, Samardzija, and Span, it should provide enough outside help for the Giants. A healthy Hunter Pence is not always so bad either. Span’s capabilities at the top of the order, gap hitting, and stolen bases will boost the front of the lineup. In the eight hole, the Giants have the advantage of a second lead off hitter in Pagan, to keep innings alive, as well having pitchers who are good at hitting.

It is hard to pick against the Giants but when you do, they always seem to turn the impossible into a reality. Bruce Bochy has managerial magic and players who can come up big in meaningful games.
