With the fun of breaking down the divisions and predicting who will make the playoffs, comes the even more daunting task of addressing the major award winners. It is rare to see a player from start to finish wrap up an award anymore, as strong halves are taken into consideration. Arrieta for example had an elite second half of the season, but only a pretty good first half. The second half is what likely helped him win his 2015 Cy Young award.

It is hard to pick against Kershaw though, as he is perpetually driven and is getting better. Harper and Josh Donaldson respectively won their league’s MVP’s in 2015 and look likely to be in the thick of things once again this season.

The talent around baseball is growing and 2016 could be another year that excites us.
