Major League Baseball is back. After what seemed like an eternity of waiting after pitchers and catchers reported, that anticipation pays off as this Sunday the Pittsburgh Pirates take on the St. Louis Cardinals to kick off the 2016 season.
Three games — four if you want to get technical (the Chicago Cubs and Los Angeles Angels play their Spring Training finale) — will highlight Opening Day. The Tampa Rays and Toronto Blue Jays will handle the afternoon duties, while the 2015 World Series matchup will finish up the night with a game televised nationally on ESPN.
It is another year of players and coaches wearing new uniforms or adding to their legacies with their old teams. And it’s another year where the Cubs could possibly add to their dreadful 107 year curse — or finally bring it to an end.
