Stephen Curry is…Kalisto

Steph Curry has entered the conversation as one of the greatest shooters of all time; if not the greatest.

Curry has four of the top six three-pointer made seasons, including the top three. The Baby-faced Assassin is coming off an MVP season and an NBA Championship and currently seems like the frontrunner to win MVP again this season.

To top it all off, in what may seem impossible, Curry has even started to get comparisons to Michael Jordan, arguably the greatest basketball player of all time. The legendary video game series “2K” gave Curry a 98 rating, a plateau only reached by Jordan before.

But what sets Curry apart is the way he plays his game.

He is known for hitting ridiculously deep shots and making miraculous plays. He has started the hashtag, #StephGonnaSteph. NBA fans have never seen a player of Steph’s caliber. He makes hitting deep threes look like layups, and even his layups are usually high-arcing off the backboard.

Curry may not be Jordan level in terms of stats yet, but the way he plays his game is one of a kind, and something the NBA fans have never seen before.

In turn, Kalisto, the obvious heir apparent to long-term high-flyer Rey Mysterio, has dazzled fans with his repertoire of moves. His high flying acrobatics usually make the fans’ jaws drop. His ability to complete high, aerial assault type moves with ease make him very Curry-esqe. His finisher is the Salida Del Sol, which can be seen here:

That is the type of move that makes fans jump from their seats. And his willingness to attempt said moves off of ladders only adds to his persona. Old school wrestling fans loved Mysterio for his ability to use the ropes and fly high. Kalisto embodies that, making him a fan favorite. Anytime Kalisto is in a match, viewers have to be prepared to a quick-paced offense, top-rope maneuvers, and of course, the Salida Del Sol.

Curry and Kalisto both make the fans say “wow”. The way they compete sets them apart. Their work is almost magical; and they make it look so easy.
