4th Round (Order Undetermined): RB Kenyan Drake, Alabama

He may not be the feature back, but Kenyan Drake would provide a guy Keelly will be able to use in his offense. With a balance of running and passing, Drake is quite possibly the best receiving back in the draft, and could slot in well. At 6’1″ 210 lbs, he is not a Darren Sproles-sized back, but has the skill set.

Drake provides versatility as he has great vision in the back field and remains in balance and has the ability to make quick cuts. Also, his return ability will boost a 49ers special teams unit that just can’t seem to find guys to earn yards and put the offense in good field position.

Drake took it to the house on the biggest stage of the National Championship against the Clemson Tigers. That game alone is what could shape his NFL career as a return man, and specialist in the back field.

Carlos Hyde needs to stay healthy as well, but Shaun Draughn and Drake could handle the load if the running back needs time off due to injury.

One shouldn’t expect a heavy workload for one running back in Kelly’s system, so a three-headed monster could be in the works if the 49ers select him. In the fourth round, this would be a De’Anthony Thomas scenario.
