2016 NFL Combine Wrap-Up: Stanford Cardinal
Joshua Garnett, Offensive Lineman
Measurables:
Height: 6’4″
Weight: 312 lbs.
Arm Length: 33-7/8″
Hand Size: 10-1/8″
Garnett is just about average in nearly every measurable category, as far as linemen go. His height is normal, he’s one pound above average, and his arms are about two-tenths longer than average. His hands, however, are over an inch smaller than the average lineman in the Combine this year.
Drills (position rankings):
Bench Press (225 pounds): 30 (5/46)
40-Yard Dash: 5.32 (32/46)
Broad Jump: 99″ (31/44)
3-Cone Drill: 7.62 (12/41)
20-Yard Shuttle: 4.64 (13/42)
The Outland Trophy winner showed impressive strength on the bench press, tying himself with four other lineman for the fifth-most reps with 30 of 225 pounds. He was one of the slower lineman in the 40-yard dash, but more importantly for a lineman, he had a pretty good 10-yard split at 1.83 seconds.
Garnett also didn’t have a great showing in the broad jump, but showed off a good bit of athleticism for a man his size in the three-cone drill and the 20-yard shuttle, finishing in the top-third of lineman in both categories.
Garnett is likely to go on the second day of the draft, keeping up with a long line of great lineman to come out of Stanford.
