Donald Trump-New York Yankees, Los Angeles Dodgers

This one may seem like a negative, depending on your political leaning, but don’t worry, it’s not. By calling these two teams the Donald Trump(s) of baseball, we’re merely labeling them what they are already known for.

The Yankees, run by business tycoons from New York, have long been one of the most iconic teams in any sport. Trump has long been the face of “big business”. The Yankees, like Trump, frequently throw money at their problems, whether it’s signing big name players to lucrative contracts, or simply unloading prospects for superstars at the trade deadline.

Trump too, has long been known to throw money at his issues, but like the Yankees, that hasn’t always paid off in recent years. The same goes for the Dodgers, who in recent years have spent their fair share of money as well. The Dodgers are likened to Trump though, mostly because of their perennial ability to talk a big game. Results aside, both Trump and the Dodgers are well-known for their aggressive trash-talking habits.

From the days of Jeff Kent to the modern team’s Yasiel Puig, everyone in the West knows the Dodgers will be tough competitors who won’t be silenced anytime soon. Like Trump, the Dodgers and Yankees are everyone’s favorite teams to bag on. However, just like Trump, both teams are poised to make a big run come this fall. Just don’t make fun of their hair.

    Martin O’Malley-Cleveland Indians

These two are a good fit because let’s be honest, does the general public know a thing about either one of them? Will they be around long enough to become well-known and beloved? Probably not.

    Bobby Jindall-Tampa Bay Rays

    See above.
