Daniel Lasco, Running Back

Measurables:

Height: 6’0″
Weight: 209 lbs.
Arm Length: 32″
Hand Size: 9-1/4″

Lasco measured in as one of the smallest backs in the Combine in terms of weight. He’s put on a few pounds since his senior year at Cal, moving up from an officially listed 205 pounds to 209 at the Combine, but is still 21st out of 29 backs at that weight. His hand size is slightly below average at 9-1/4 inches, but his 32-inch long arms are the fifth-longest out of his position group.

Drills (position ranking):

Bench Press (225 lbs.): 23  (7/25)
40-Yard Dash: 4.46 (4/22)
Vertical Leap: 41.5″ (1/23)
Broad Jump: 135″ (1/22)
3-Cone Drill: 7.22 (11/13)
20-Yard Shuttle: 4.26 (6/13)
60-Yard Shuttle: 11.31 (2/12)

Lasco got his workouts off to an impressive start on Thursday, posting the seventh-highest bench press total with 23 reps of 225 pounds. Only Texas Tech’s DeAndre Washington had a higher total among back under 210 pounds. He continued to impress on Friday, starting off with a very fast 4.46 second time in the 40-yard dash. He showed off his true athleticism by beating every other running back in the vertical leap, and setting a Combine record for running backs in the broad jump.

The 3-cone drill was Lasco’s toughest of the Combine, as he finished 11th out of the 13 running backs who participated in the event. He bounced back by finishing in the top half of the 20-yard shuttle, and posting the second-best time in the 60-yard shuttle.

After that rough, injury-filled season in 2015 at Cal, Lasco has proven himself very well in the pre-draft season. He had a great showing at the East West Shrine Game, and showed his pure athleticism in the Combine. He has really helped his stock.
