Stephen Curry will unsurprisingly start in the NBA All-Star game, and he will have welcome company from Klay Thompson and Draymond Green.

Yesterday, Thompson and Green were announced as all-star reserves. This will be Thompson’s second appearance and Green’s first. Forget about the supposed “big three” of LeBron James, Kevin Love, and Kyrie Irving in Cleveland. James does all of the heavy lifting while Love and Irving continue to underwhelm.

The true “big three” of the NBA belongs to the Golden State Warriors through Curry, Thompson, and Green. Considering that the Warriors have three players in this year’s all-star game, it’s safe to say they have the most talented group in the league.

Obviously, Golden State’s incredible record speaks for itself, but the combined efforts of Curry, Thompson, and Green have taken this team to a new level. However, it looked as if the Warriors were about to enter a slump a couple weeks ago with two losses in three games.

Was it time for the Warriors to come back to Earth? Absolutely not. After a decently big loss to the Pistons, Golden State crushed every opponent during and impressive five-game stretch. None of those teams are slouches of the NBA either. The Warriors beat the Cleveland Cavaliers, Chicago Bulls, Indiana Pacers, San Antonio Spurs, and Dallas Mavericks, all by sizable margins. Most importantly, the Warriors made two top teams, the Cavaliers and Spurs, look mediocre at best.

During that stretch, Stephen Curry was on fire with multiple 30-point performances. Thompson had a monster night on Wednesday with 45 points, and Green continues to dominate everywhere on the court.

More from Golden State Warriors

Thompson definitely deserved the all-star bid with his consistent sharp shooting, but it’s ridiculous that Green is a reserve rather than a starter. Draymond Green is one of the most complete players in the NBA, and his presence takes complete control of tough games. However, it is great that his rising greatness was awarded with an all-star bid.

The Curry, Thompson, and Green trio is finally getting the recognition it deserves. The combination of these three players is so special because of how well their efforts and talents compliment each other. All three of them are among the toughest players on the court. Toughness mixed with seemingly limitless talent has made the Warriors essentially unstoppable.

Yet, there is one more thing that has made the Warriors greatly better than everybody else in the NBA. The players on the Warriors are by far the best teammates in the league. On the surface, the All-Star Game is about the celebration of individual talent. When it comes to Curry, Thompson, and Green, their success rose from the historic fellowship they’ve been forging on the court.

The management of the Golden State Warriors simply did an incredible job of putting this team together. Plus, a brilliant head coach like Steve Kerr made all of their success seem like a walk in the park.

This all-star trio is one more thing that will help cement this era for the Warriors as one of the greatest teams in the history of the NBA. Curry has definitely been the torch bearer of greatness throughout his team’s rise.
