Defensive End – Greg Townsend
Coming out of Texas Christian, Townsend lasted until the fourth round of the 1983 draft. The Raiders used the one hundred and tenth pick on him – and he went on to become one of the Raiders’ most dominant defensive linemen in franchise history.
Over the course of his twelve seasons in Silver and Black, Townsend recorded 338 tackles and 107.5 sacks – which makes him the franchise’s career leader in that category by a wide margin. In seven of Townsend’s twelve seasons with the Raiders, he recorded double digit sacks and was an unstoppable force.
He earned two trips to the Pro Bowl, was an All Pro four times, and helped the team win Super Bowl XVIII.
