Oakland Raiders: The Franchise’s All Time Starting Team

The Oakland Raiders, one of football’s most storied franchises, has some of the game’s all time greatest players.
Since the Oakland Raiders‘ inception in 1960, they’ve had some of the greatest players the game has ever known don the Silver and Black. That much is indisputable.

However, when you start putting together lists like these, there is always going to be room for argument. People have sentimental favorites. Others have reasons they think this player or that player should have made the list. Which is what makes putting lists like these together interesting and fun. It leaves a lot of room for discussion and debate.
For the purposes of this article, we’re going to eliminate the fullback position and add a third receiver to our All Time starting offense. Why? Because while the Raiders have had some fine fullbacks over the years, they’ve had more impactful players at the receiver spot.
The Raiders have had so many terrific players – all time greats – at virtually every position, that narrowing down the list to one at each spot was tough. And there are bound to be some disagreements.
