Martin Jones joins the San Jose Sharks after 39 games with the Los Angeles Kings over the past two seasons serving as the back-up to Jonathan Quick. Jones finally finds himself in a starting role and will likely start 60-to-65 games this season for San Jose with Alex Stalock as Jones’ backup. Jones posted a 3-0-1 record in preseason action and had a 0.76 goals against average in the process.

Hockey’s Future breaks down Jones’ skill set as “…a large netminder that covers a lot of the net with both size and solid athleticism. He is good at puck control and gives up few rebounds. While consistency has been the main issue with Jones, he is starting to find more highs than lows as he has matured.”
