Mirco Mueller, the San Jose Sharks’ first-round draft pick (18th overall) in the 2013 NHL Draft, made his NHL debut last season and did not disappoint in his short stint with San Jose. Mueller finished with one goal, three assists, and racked up 10 penalty minutes in 39 games. Mueller and Dillon will most likely be the third defensemen pairing to begin the 2015-2016 season.
Hockey’s Future describes Mueller as “a big two-way defenseman with the potential to be the cornerstone of the San Jose Sharks blue line for years to come. He skates well, but it will be a point of improvement going forward. He plays a technically sound game and is rarely caught out of position. He brings with him a shot blocking prowess, and an ability to effectively use his size to clear the crease.”
