Last season, Doug Wilson, general manager for the San Jose Sharks, wanted a left-handed defenseman who could rifle the puck at opposing goaltenders. With this wish list came Brenden Dillon, whom Wilson acquired from the Dallas Stars. Dillon played well in his time with the San Jose Sharks last season as he finished with two goals, seven assists, and tallied 54 penalty minutes in 60 games

Hockey’s Future breaks down Dillon’s game as such, “He’s a big, rangy blueliner with good mobility for his somewhat-recently acquired size.  He exhibits good hockey sense and understands what’s going on at all times.  Plays a physical brand of hockey and isn’t afraid to drop the mitts if the situation warrants.  Strong, imposing.”
