More from San Jose Sharks

Tomas Hertl will enter his third season with the San Jose Sharks and will be looking to rebound from a below-average performance last season. After posting 15 goals and 10 assists in just 37 games in the 2013-2014 season, Hertl scored 13 goals and finished with 18 assists in 82 games last year. His plus/minus rating went from a +11 to a -5 over the course of the two seasons as well. Hertl will turn 22-years-old in mid-November and it’s quite remarkable that he has already logged 119 regular season NHL games and also seven playoff games.

Hockey’s Future breaks down Tomas Hertl as “…a young star on the rise. He excels in almost every skill and situation and works tirelessly at correcting the faults he does have. He is a good skater, and travels quick to the puck with above average four-step acceleration… He might not possess top level point production skills, but his all-around game, highlighted by his excellent shot, make him not just a potential top line forward, but a potential star in the NHL.”
