If these predictions hold up, here are the additions the Giants will bring to the squad for the 2016 season:

LF – Gerardo Parra

SP’s – Mike Leake (re-signed), Doug Fister

C – Alex Avila (if no Susac or Sanchez)

2015 has been an interesting year as injuries have truly affected how fans and the Giants can evaluate this team. Due to a multitude of injuries, the organization has had to throw whoever could play or was at least close enough to play onto Bochy’s team. There have been highs and lows from the rookies.

On the bright side, the development of Duffy and Tomlinson have been a blessing at third base, and Tomlinson’s abilities to play multiple positions has been a blessing. The bullpen has also shown the depth they have been building the last few years and guys seem ready to relieve the burden on some of the veterans.

Javier Lopez and Affeldt are both free agents and are old. Both are 36 and older and their best days may be behind them, but their leadership has not faded. At this rate, the team has to value leadership or the ability to play. Leaders come and go, and right now, the bunch that helped get them to 2015 is starting to need a clean up.

With youngsters and a hungry bullpen, the Giants look to be in good position for 2016 and beyond. If the outfield, starting rotation, and catching emergency can be figured out, look for the Giants to once again push for the playoffs and continue that unbelievable even-year curse of winning the World Championship.
