The Bay Area is lucky enough to have plenty of championship-caliber teams, and teams with rich histories as well. They all represent the section of Northern California on the global stages of the nation’s largest sports venues. To have no teams prior to the 1950’s and suddenly have six great teams is quite the achievement.
These six teams in the Bay Area, going off of the traditional Big Four considerations, (sorry MLS) are: the Oakland A’s, Oakland Raiders, Golden State Warriors, San Francisco Giants, San Francisco 49ers, and San Jose Sharks.

Recently the Bay Area’s sports teams were named as the fifth best uniform city. Paul Lukas of Uni Watch, in conjunction with ESPN, compared all 20 cities with three or more pro sports franchises and decided which collective unit had the best uniforms. Boston, Pittsburgh, Chicago and Philadelphia were ranked in front of The Bay Area, which could certainly be argued and seems all but settled.
They said the Oakland Raiders had the best uniforms out of all the Bay Area teams, but the rest of the rankings were a bit controversial. For more coverage I will defer to Brandon Keller’s coverage here at Golden Gate Sports. Here I will be breaking down all five of the uniforms worn by the 2015 San Francisco Giants and ranking them in order.
