Likely D-League Bound

Matt Stainbrook

Chasson Randle

Stefan Nastic

Michael Frazier

These players will almost certainly not receive a training camp invite from the Warriors simply due to the lack of available spots at camp. While none of these players impressed enough to earn an extended look with the Dubs, they may receive an invite from another team less stocked with talent.

The lovable Matt Stainbrook, with his boyish goggles and burly body, was understandably a defensive liability. With his top-heavy frame and a complete lack of lateral agility, Stainbrook’s defensive deficiencies overshadow his offensive capabilities. He is wily player in the post with a light touch around the rim.

Chasson Randle is an intriguing player who will undoubtedly receive an invite to a team’s training camp. The one thing that has hampered his NBA ceiling is his lack of height. Listed at just over 6’1”, Randle’s game is more suited for the shooting guard position. He has terrific driving ability and displayed plenty of range to his shot during the summer league, but if he is going to have a future in the NBA, Randle will have to develop his point guard skills.

The Warriors were likely disappointed with what they saw from Stefan Nastic and Michael Frazier during the summer. Both were starters and were given plenty of opportunities to impress. Nastic, despite having NBA-caliber size and tenacity, showed he simply doesn’t have the offensive skills or defensive awareness to be an NBA big man right now.

Michael Frazier’s performance during the summer league was also fairly uninspiring. Among the few spots available on the Warriors roster is a spot for an extra shooter on the wing. Frazier had a terrific collegiate career as a four-year starter at Florida, where he made his money as a three-point marksmen. Had Frazier showcased his shooting prowess more consistently during the summer league, the Dubs may have considered ceding the roster spot of the washed-up Brandon Rush to the youngster.
