Wood is an interesting prospect if the Warriors are in the market for a power forward. Watching film, you can see how incredibly athletic he is, showing a great deal of speed and agility both in the open court and in the half court.
Offensively, he’s a capable scorer inside, and he has a developing face-up game that owes a lot to a pretty solid first step. He also has a nice shooting touch, hitting free throws at a nice percentage and sometimes even hitting the occasional three-pointer. Defensively, his length and size would make him a formidable rebounder and post defender.
Unfortunately, Wood is a bit raw on both ends of the ball. If he should develop a more aggressive mentality and continue to work on perfecting the many areas of his game, though, Wood could grow into a scary good NBA player.
But at just 19, that’s a huge if. Still, Warriors should look into taking him they’re confident in their staff’s ability to unlock Wood’s potential.
