Yes, he’s the second youngest player in his draft class, but like Hunter, this shooting guard out of UNLV is a versatile long range scorer. He, like Hunter, can score well in spot-up situations, off the dribble and coming off screens.

The difference between him and Hunter is the fact that Vaughn is three years younger. While his age and upside put a tally mark in the plus column, his age also works against him as his skills are still malleable at this point in time. Some scouts see him as becoming a solid NBA scorer, others see him capable of becoming an elite NBA scorer, and others see him becoming a volume shooter. It can really go either way.

He also has some defensive upside, displaying solid quickness moving laterally after posting the third best agility time at the Combine. Still a big undisciplined on that end of the floor, Golden State’s defensive mentality under Ron Adams could really mold Vaughn into a reliable 3-and-D wingman.

Vaughn is slated to be drafted somewhere in the middle of the first round, so if he were to fall to the Warriors, he could prove quite the steal…especially if Golden State is able to unlock the scoring potential that Vaughn exudes.
