Wright probably won’t be there when the Warriors draft at 30, but he’s worth taking a look at seeing how his draft stock has fallen after suffering a pre-draft workout injury about a week ago (week ago). Recent reports also point to Golden State possibly looking to move up in the draft, and Wright could certainly be their target.
Some Warriors fans may remember Dorell Wright, who had his best years as a sharpshooter for Golden State; well, this is his younger brother. Surprisingly enough, they’re nowhere near the same type of player, as Delon is a pass-first point guard whose length helps make him a good scorer inside, a solid rebounder and a great all-around defender that can guard multiple positions.
Delon may not have the long-range shooting ability his brother has, but he’s certainly made strides toward becoming a better spot-up shooter. His pull-up jumper needs some work, but his feel for the game and high basketball IQ promises a lengthy NBA career.
Alongside other playmakers like Shaun Livingston and Andre Iguodala, Wright would be a welcome addition to the Warriors’ second unit, one that would only improve its overall ball movement and perimeter defense.
