Martin is unlikely to drop to 30 after he shut down all workouts following the announcement that a mid-1st round team promised to take him with their pick. Lots of speculation as to which team that promise came from.
Nothing is for sure. But promises can be broken if a better prospect happens to slip. So…
Taking a look at Martin, the first thing that stands out is his ability to run the open floor. He runs the floor well for his size and position, and he’s a solid leaper in both fast break situations and in half court sets.
He posted average marks in the athleticism department at the Combine, but the eye test shows he can really explode on the glass or on defensive plays. Offensively, he’s a versatile scorer that’s comfortable in a number of different situations both inside and outside, but he’ll need to become more consistent of a scorer if he wants to upgrade his role later on his career.
