Talk about being in the right place at the right time – and on the world’s biggest stage.
In Super Bowl XXX, Dallas Cowboys cornerback Larry Brown intercepted Neil O’Donnell twice. And he didn’t have to work very hard to get either one given that Deion Sanders was on one side of the field, and O’Donnell, wanting to keep the ball away from Sanders, practically hit Brown in the numbers with passes.

His two picks though, were enough to net him the Super Bowl MVP honors – something no cornerback had done, and no defensive back had won since 1973.
Given that he was a free agent following the Super Bowl, Brown used that MVP performance to make himself a pretty penny. He leveraged the two biggest picks of his career into a five year, $12 millions dollar contract with $3.5 million in guaranteed money.
Though we suppose, in fairness to Davis, Brown did have ten interceptions over the previous two seasons. So it wasn’t just another case of him signing the shiniest thing in free agency. Sort of.
His time in Oakland though, was an unmitigated disaster. He played in just twelve total games over two seasons, accumulating just one interception and not doing much of anything else. It’s not a big surprise then, that he was waived by the team and earned a spot on lists like this forever more.
