Aaron Brooks

After playing for six seasons in New Orleans, Aaron Brooks was able to parlay some moderate success into a large payday.

During his time in the Big Easy, Brooks threw for nearly 20,000 yards and 120 touchdowns, but finished his time there with a 38-44 career win mark. He did however, make a name for himself by having the ability to lead his team back from deficits to snatch a win. It was that part that Davis fell in love with.

  • Davis loved him so much that he gave Brooks a two year deal worth $8 million. Needless to say, Brooks didn’t make it to the end of his contract with the Silver and Black.

Brooks was tabbed to start the season as the Raiders went into training camp. In the first game in Oakland, Brooks was sacked nine times by a fired up Chargers defense. In game two, against the Ravens, Brooks was sacked – surprise, surprise – and ended up breaking his collarbone, which forced him to miss some time. In his place, backup QB Andrew Walter went 2-5, and when Brooks returned, it didn’t get any better.

The Raiders finished the season 8-8 and out of the playoffs once more, with Brooks compiling an 0-8 record and a career low 67.1 passer rating.

Brooks was released following the end of the season – surprise, surprise.
