LaMont Jordan

Before coming to the Raiders, Jordan spent four years with the New York Jets – and truth be told, he was a mediocre running back at who had never broken 1,000 yards. He hadn’t even come close to breaking 1,000 yards.

That didn’t stop the Raiders though, from offering Jordan a five year, $27.5 million dollar contract. And his first year in Silver and Black wasn’t half bad. In that first year in Oakland, Jordan rushed 272 times for 1,025 yards and nine touchdowns. The early return on the investment in Jordan seemed to be paying off.

Until it didn’t.

In Jordan’s second year with Oakland, he missed half the season with injury and his production dropped to just 434 yards on 114 carries. After that, he was a reserve back and in 2007, Jordan rushed for just 549 yards, appearing in twelve games.

He was gone by 2008, going on to play a season in New England and Denver, not doing much of anything at either stop.
