Number Five: Art Powell
Though Powell had played for two other teams over four seasons in the old AFL before he came to Oakland, he was a star for the Raiders. At 6’3”, 211 lbs., Powell had the size to be a prototypical receiver, but he had the one thing brand new head coach Al Davis wanted in his receivers – speed to burn.

Powell was a big difference maker on the field, and a fantastic teammate and leader off of it. He was everything that Davis and the Raiders could have ever wanted and more. He was a star for the team, being named an AFL All Star in each of his four seasons with the Raiders (1963-1966).
Over his four seasons – 56 games – in Silver and Black, Powell accumulated 254 receptions for 4,491 yards – an average of almost 18 yards per catch. Powell also hauled in 50 of his 81 career touchdowns while playing for the Raiders.
