Obviously third base is a need for the Giants going deeper into the season. If the team were to add Ramirez they would get a capable plug-and-play player, but only until the end of the year. Adding Beltre would give the team a bonafide stud for years to come.
Finding power at the trade market is tough. We usually don’t see many 30+ home run hitters being moved. But with the Rangers already having a third basemen of the future in Joey Gallo, it is very possible that Beltre could be up for trade.
Through 51 games in 2015 Beltre is batting, .257 with six homeruns and 18 RBI. He was diagnosed with a thumb injury on June 1st, temporarily putting his season on hold. Beltre is a career .284 hitter with 401 homeruns and 1402 RBI in his 18-year career.
Beltre is four-time All Star, four-time Silver Slugger and four-time Gold Glover. He was voted in the top-20 in the MVP race six times. He is a future Hall of Famer.

Bringing all those credentials to the Bay would provide the Giants with a proven stud to pair with Buster Posey and Madison Bumgarner to form the team’s core. He would provide much more than an elder voice, but a player who can be one of the top contributors on the team.
Getting Beltre would likely cost at least one top prospect, but it would be worth it as the team would be getting a top-five third basemen in the league.
His addition would bolster the Giant’s lineup and solidify the third base position in San Francisco for 2015 and beyond.
