4. Week 8-@ St. Louis Rams

The Rams certainly won’t be picked by the ‘experts’ to win the NFC West this season or any other season in the foreseeable future due to the strength of the division. But that shouldn’t stop 49er fans from being wary of this game.

  • The Rams are a hungry team of young players looking to make a name for themselves. After trading away oft-injured and high draft pick Sam Bradford, the team is looking to set a new team attitude. Nick Foles, new to St. Louis after an off-season trade with Philly, will  be looking to establish himself in his new home with signature wins against divisional opponents.

With a formidable core of linemen and linebackers, the Rams certainly have horns, and should not be overlooked.

Coming off a likely exhausting matchup with the Seahawks in Week seven, this is the definition of a trap game. The 49ers will be confident and excited if they beat Seattle, or dismayed if they are beaten at home by their rivals.

Either way, there are bound to be emotions in addition to injuries that will carry over and into this matchup with the Rams. Combine that with a deadly punt returner like Tavon Austin and you get the recipe for a trap game.
