Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson Spend Weekend Watching Baseball

With a little less than a week before their next game, Golden State Warriors guards Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson each took some time to share the love and watch the Bay Area’s two Major League Baseball teams.

On Friday, Curry was spotted watching the San Francisco Giants take on the Atlanta Braves, a game that the Giants won 2-4. Curry was formally announced by the San Francisco Giants PA guy and put on the big screen, a gesture that was followed by Curry being drowned with MVP chants throughout AT&T Park.

Curry came with wife, Ayesha, as well as his mom and dad, Sonya and Dell Curry. Together, the family enjoyed the game and other festivities, which included a meeting with Willie Mays.

And as a surprise, Curry and his wife — whom are expecting their second child very soon —  got to share a kiss via the Giants’ kiss cam!

Fellow Bay Area MVP Buster Posey had some things to say after Curry’s appearance, talking about how Curry’s presence changed the entire feel of the game.

"“There was extra electricity. Everyone was excited he was here,” Posey said. “It was neat. It was nice of him to be here. I got a chance to speak to him quickly before the game.”"

Posey, who notably hit a two-run homer in the first inning, also made sure to voice his support for the entire team going into the NBA Finals.

"“They’ve got their biggest games coming up in a week (so) it was nice of him to be here,” said Posey. “I’m definitely pulling for him — for all of them.”"

On Sunday, Curry’s Splash Brother went to go see the Oakland Athletics take on the New York Yankees, a game which the A’s won 0-3 (fitting). Thompson sat with a few friends behind the dugout and later went into the locker rooms to chat with the players.

Athletics manager Bob Melvin spoke about the relationship between Oakland athletes prior to Thompson’s outing.

"“Here in Oakland, we take significant pride in what they’re doing,” Melvin said. “They’re right here next door to us, so we feel like they’re an Oakland team even though they are a Bay Area club. It’s very exciting. It’s been a long time since they’ve been in this position and they get full support from us.”"

As for Thompson, seeing him out at the Coliseum is a great sign that his concussion symptoms have subsided. He’s expected to play in Game 1 of the NBA Finals against LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers come Thursday.

However, the biggest headline was made when Oakland Athletics outfielder Josh Reddick — though seemingly joking — took to Twitter to express his dismay seeing Curry in the orange and black rather than yellow and green.

Per Fox Sports, it was the fact that Giants outfielder Hunter Pence went to go see the Warriors play at Oracle Arena during the season that Curry wanted to see a game in San Francisco.

"“He wanted to return the favor,” said Giants CEO Larry Baer."

Only thing left to do is for Pence to tweet out “Hurts seeing Klay at an A’s game #JustKiddingJosh #NotThatSeriousBro.”
