It’s quite possible that the Warriors faced a tougher matchup in the Western Conference Semifinals that they will face in the Western Conference Finals against the Rockets. The Grizzlies provided the Warriors with a difficult dose of toughness, grit, contrast, and experience.

The Warriors are a better team because of their series against the Grizzlies. They needed to face adversity in the playoffs, and this adversity made them tougher and even more confident and united heading into their matchup with the Rockets.

The Rockets’ toughness and level of fight that was evident in their epic comeback against the Clippers proves that they should not be thought of as an easy opponent. However, the length of the series will depend on Beverley’s health. If Beverley comes back at some point in the series, I could see this series going to six games, but it’s not clear if he’ll be able to return.

With home court advantage and superior defense, the Warriors will prevail in this series.

Prediction: Warriors in five
