Week 9: @Pittsburgh Steelers (2014 Record: 11-5)

This isn’t going to be the same Pittsburgh team without the likes of Troy Polamalu, Jason Worilds, and Ike Taylor wreaking havoc on opposing offenses. But this a Pittsburgh team that is still very good, and is still very dangerous.

With youngsters like Ryan Shazier, Cortez Allen, and Jarvis Jones taking the torch from the Steelers’ old guard, Pittsburgh is still going to have a formidable defense.

Not only that, but they also have an electrifying offense to go with it. No longer the run on almost every down Steelers we all knew, Pittsburgh showed last season that they have a passing attack that can battle with any team in the league. Pittsburgh QB Ben Roethlisberger threw for a shade under 5,000 yards last season, and tossed 32 scores – both career highs. He also had seven games where he went over 300 yards passing, one over 400 yards, and one over 500 yards passing.

Aerial pyrotechnics aren’t what one normally associates with Pittsburgh, it’s clear that these aren’t your daddy’s Steelers.

Though Pittsburgh had some notable departures this offseason, they still have a core group of players from last season that will very likely carry them to another AFC North title. Unfortunately for Raiders’ fans, the Steelers will have too much for them to handle.

Prediction: LOSS

Pittsburgh 35; Raiders 24

Record: 6-2
