Emanuel will slide in the draft for a couple reasons. One, being that he is from North Dakota State, and he does not fit a position due to being undersized. What is stunning is the 19.5 sacks he racked up during his senior year, primarily playing defensive end. He went on to win the defensive player of the year in 2014 in the FCS.

In the NFL, Emanuel will be an outside linebacker based on fit.

While he played for a small school, which doesn’t generate the same buzz as Division 1 FBS teams, Emanuel was productive against top competition (top 25), racking up 10 sacks in eight games.

Emanuel is not quick off the line, but he makes it up with the motor he displays and his quick lateral agility. With the agility, he is able to shed blocks and get to the quarterback in time to deliver a mean blow.

Based on film, he should transition well in the NFL with the right scheme. Emanuel has similar size to Skuta, so in a 3-4 scheme, the same level of production is possible. Emanuel can provide another body to add depth to the linebacking core, which has taken a hit this offseason.
