Another major problem for the Sacramento Kings has been their inability to sign a big name free agent. The Kings’ lackluster performance — along with Sacramento not being a major market — have aided in free agents refusal to come to Sac-town.

While building through the draft benefits the youth and future of the franchise, free agency provides the team with a player(s) that can improve the “win now” approach. Looking at the Kings’ free agents haul of recent years though, shows a profound mediocrity of the signings.
No “big name” player has signed with Sacramento from 2007 until now. Sacramento’s past free agency signings have been filled with dull and dreary players who have rarely helped the team. That’s something that must change if they are to stop being a laughingstock in the NBA.
