Oakland to Re-sign Denarius Moore

It’s no secret that the Raiders need some help at the wide receiver position. Actually, they need help at the wide receiver spot pretty desperately. No matter how desperate they are though, the Raiders most certainly should not be thinking about bringing Denarius Moore back into the fold.

Now, given the fact that the Raiders let him walk away without even offering him minimum wage to play for the team should tell us all we need to know about where Moore stands with the organization.

Moore has always been an incredibly intriguing player, but ultimately an incredibly frustrating one. He has some serious speed, and some amazing skills. Yet year after year, he was nothing more than a massive disappointment.

  • Over his four seasons in Oakland, Moore snared 142 passes on 303 targets — a sizzling reception rate of about 47 percent. He had some moments, of course. He made a few tremendous catches here and there. But by and large, his tenure with the Raiders can’t be viewed as anything other than a huge disappointment, and failure.

Despite that though, there are still whispers that Moore is going to be re-signed by the Raiders. And those rumors seem to grow louder every time he takes a visit with another team and comes away without a contract.

Though the Raiders would likely be able to sign him for peanuts — or maybe they actually could get him for minimum wage — it would be an unwise investment. To say the least.
