With free agency essentially over for the 49ers, they addressed what they could. The front office has taken a lot of scrutiny from sports media and 49ers’ fans. To allow the departures they did (Willis and Borland don’t count), it is hard to consider 49ers’ owner, Jed York, to be senseless.
Where the team has finished the previous four seasons and with the talent still on the roster, it is evident York will not allow for this team to take a step back. York’s desire to win resembles that of his uncle Eddie DeBartolo. While both were intense, both have been different in their approach.
The draft is a fresh start for York and new head coach Tomsula, who served as Harbaugh’s defensive line coach. General Manager, Trent Baalke, has proven he can draft and create opportunities to acquire more players.
While this is an outlook on what positions the 49ers could address at the end of April, one thing is certain — the 49ers will mine their way through Chicago.
