Wednesday, March 18th – Clippers 116 @ Kings 105

Not one person in Sacramento dislikes the Clippers as much as Cousins. It is well-known that Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan of the Clippers are great at getting under the skin of opposing players during games, and Cousins is a perfect target given his slightly easy-to-upset temper. In the end, we didn’t get to see any extracurriculars between rivals, as Cousins was out once more with a strained calf.

Without Boogie down low to fight back, Griffin and Jordan combined for 25 points and 25 rebounds. The Kings were also hurt by poor defense that allowed sharpshooters Hedo Turkoglou and J.J. Redick, who were on fire from deep, to sink a dozen three-pointers on their own. Here’s what Nik Stauskas had to say about the two after the game:

"“Today, whether it was Hedo or J.J., they were getting open 3s and knocking them down,” Kings rookie Nik Stauskas said. “Once they get that going, it’s kind of tough to stop them. That’s one thing that makes them one of the best teams in the league.”"

Gay, back from his injury, supplied 23 points but only shot 6-of-19 and 0-for-5 from beyond the arc. The Kings put up a good fight versus the fifth-seeded Clippers, but without Cousins, the Kings lost the game and fell to just 2-13 without him in the lineup.

Next up was a visit from Michael Jordan‘s Charlotte Hornets.
