There is reason to believe that the 49er defense is capable of surviving the losses of Chris Borland, Patrick Willis, and Justin SmithAaron Lynch is ready to play an even bigger role this season, and Aldon Smith has given himself an ultimatum, finally showing the maturity to take his career seriously. By restructuring his contract the way he has, he is making football his priority. And with his insane amount of talent, the 49ers can rest well knowing that Aldon will be ready to wreak havoc this season.

Although he currently is in hot water with the fans, General Manager Trent Baalke is known to be an excellent scout of linebacker talent. Borland was taken in the third round last year, and amazingly, Baalke drafted NaVorro Bowman with the 91st overall pick in 2010.

Therefore, Baalke can to be trusted in finding Borland’s replacement in this year’s draft. Speaking of which, the return of superstar Bowman is better than signing any free agent in the offseason.

Lastly, if anyone on the planet has the respect and admiration of this defensive core, it would be their former line coach Jim Tomsula. They will go to battle for their coach and all are excited to have him calling the shots.
