2.) Drafting Klay Thompson

Chalk this one up under the “not so bold” category. Like Curry, Klay Thompson has helped shape the face and fortunes of the Golden State Warriors. Thompson, along with Curry, form the highly regarded and rightly feared “Splash Brothers” tandem.

  • Known for their ability to drain 3s at the flick of a wrist, Curry and Thompson form arguably the best backcourt in the NBA. Like Curry, Thompson was drafted out of a lightly regarded program in Washington State in 2011. Since being taken by the Warriors, he has improved and this season has been his best so far.

He is currently 9th in the league in PPG with 21.8, and also is tied for second in three pointers made. He was voted to his first ever All-Star game this year for his breakout season. He also got to participate in the first ever All-Star fashion show where he made it to the final 4 but was eventually eliminated in favor of JR Smith and Chandler Parsons; with the former being crowned inaugural champ.

On the basketball court his game is just as pretty. He has one of the fastest shots in the NBA and can shoot almost anywhere at any time. He even broke the NBA record for most points in a quarter with 37 on January 3rd against the Sacramento Kings.

Thompson is a spark of energy every time he touches the ball and provides the Warriors with great shooting and overall scoring night in and night out. He is one of the top shooting guards in the league, and the backcourt of Curry and Thompson is arguably the best in the league.
