The desperate state of Oakland’s receiving corps will undoubtedly lead people to connect the Raiders with every free agent to hit the market. Jones is the highest profile receiver on the market at this point, so of course, there is already speculation that he will wind up in Silver and Black – mainly because there isn’t a whole lot else to talk about right now.

Though Jones is a speedster, and is tremendous on special teams, as a receiver he leaves a lot to be desired. 2014 was among Jones’ worst offensive seasons since he was drafted. He had nine receptions for 131 yards and no touchdowns. Even worse is the fact that Jones had a number of terrible drops over the course of the season.
Consistency is something the Raiders desperately need from their receivers. Oakland’s pass catchers have struggled tremendously the last few years with being able to hold on to the ball. And it doesn’t seem likely that Jones would help with that trend.
